It's been a long time since SimplexLinepress came out to you all . I was very busy ,so I couldn't publish any template . But when everything is fine ,it's time for a new template . In this post ,I want to show you the blogger version of Gameup template from Magazine3.com : SimplexGamezone . Yes, another magazine template .Demo | Mirror | Download jquery-ui.js - Mirror
How to install this template
1,Download template file2,Download the jquery-ui.min.js file
To download these files ,click on the link . It open a new browser window . Click Save page as. Choose the place which you want to save and click on Save as
3,Upload this js file to your host . I have no hosting so I can't host it for you .
4,Open template in a word editor such as Notepad++
5,Find this code

Replace .../jquery-ui.min.js to the url of jquery-ui.min.js file which you hosted .6,Find this code

8,Save template and upload it to Blogger
9,Go to Dashboard ->Setting ->Other - > Allow Blog Feed and change feed mode to Full
10,Go to Dashboard -> Layout
11,To add logo
Click on logo widget
Add the url of logo to widget content as structure bellow
12,To add content to newsticker
Click on headerticker widget
Add the category which you want to show posts in newsticker
13,To add content to slider
Click on slider widget
Add name of category which you want to show latest post in slider in widget content
14,Do the same for thepart1,thepart2,thepart3 ,latestupdate widgets .
14,To add the ad
Click on small ad widget
Add the ad code into widget content .
Do the same for other ad widgets
15,There's many place which you can add widget in this template .
You can add/remove them as you want .
Save changes . Ok ,you are done .
Installing this template is not different to other templates from SimplexDesign ,so If you familiar to others ,it only take you a few minutes .
I added the download link for js file . Because many of you complaint on 110mb.com hosting downtime . I hope with this js file and your host ,it can be much more easier .
I publish the template files and js file on dropbox website . So anytime I make a changes in template ,for fixing errors or doing something else ,this patch will automatically updated ,and you can get the latest updates with the same link ,don't need another download link . I will try to publish other templates to dropbox folder in future .

ReplyDeleteThis template doesn't come with a hosted javascript file as usual . I wrote at the beginning of post above . And you have to find a place to host jquery-ui.js for yourself . It's better for loading speed .
Or you can check in comment sections ,some people host them and provide links for free ,you can take this link yourself .
i have added that thepart1,thepart2,thepart3 ,latestupdate widgets option but my widgets shows empty :O i donno y help me plz...

I used to see ppl using script to hide the part of the picture, so it looks just right without distortion.

ReplyDeleteFor the remote resizing :D there's no free lunch :D they use their bandwidth and server resource for resizing ,so why you expect they can offer this service for free :D

ReplyDelete@nhamngahanh: How about instruct the picture to only resize the width, then hide height? That way ppl can see the whole width of the image at least so they won't be scared to click to read the post.
@Contributor Tt : Oh my friend ,the site which you sent me works as exact as we mention above . They used script to hide some parts of the original image . And the pictures are really distorted :D ,you can save the original images and see the actual size ,then compare to size of these images in the site .
ReplyDeleteThe secret of the site you sent me is the size of original image . It's close to the size we need in blog . So you don't see the distortion clearly . For example ,the original image is in 400x300 ,and the size we want for image in blog is 350x250 . Two of these are very close and we can use script to hide some part of original image without worrying . People still know what is in image by seeing 3/4 of original image . But what happen if the original is 1000x500 and the size we need is still 350x250 :D The answer is for you .
To resize only one attribute ,width or height ,you can set width attribute only or set height attribute only . The client browser will calculate the rest dimension .
I my self do not like this way because it increase the loading time ,increase the resource used in client browser ,but the effective is not as good as we expect .

ReplyDeleteAnyway, about the increase in resource used, it's not different from the current method we are using to resize the image width & height to smaller and distorted whereas the actual image is just big too?

I have added the disqus commenting system and although it works, the comment takes up the whole width of the page.. also, it is posted underneath the last widget placed on the sidebar instead of just occupying the space below the post.. I know it is quite hard to explain.. so posted below is a sample link from my blog which you can check out.. hope you could resolve this soon.. thanks!

yes ,most of SimplexDesign's templates use Javascript for masking the homepage and necessary elements . It's the reason why I always tell you to remove unnecessary elements ,scripts . Adding two much categories or advertisement can make google bots not to crawl your site properly .
