Simplex Gallery has some updates

I created a F.A.Q (frequently asking question ) for this template .You can see it here
It's such a busy time , I want to make these updates in some days before but it was delayed till now .
Here is the time these updates come to you .Thanks to Evan Kirkland and others who helping me find the bugs and give me advices to fix them .

There are two updates for this template . They are :
1,Including comment system to this template
2,Enable widget function in the footer .

Live demo | Download

Download and installed it as usual .You can see instruction to install Simplex Gallery here

With this template ,to show up comment page ,you need to set comment system in Full-page mode by go to Setting -->Comment and checked on Full-page at Comments Form Placement

To make the search function work properly ,in the post ,beside adding image tags as we did before ,you need to add a comment line to describe the content of image .For example :

Because Blogger search can't search with post contain only image ,so adding a comment line as above will make blogger find out our posts easier .
At this time ,I hope you interested in these new updates !
Note for you all : Recently ,I received a lot of comments and message complaining why this template duplicate the comment line when click to thumbnail . Why this error occurred ? It's because you don't add title attribute to img tag . So I have to repeat the syntax to add image to this gallery template :

The comment line is for searching your post easier .
And if you don't add the title attribute ,you will see the duplicated comment lines .
If you have free time ,I hope you make some search in this blog or take a look on other comments .It's faster than make a question in comments form and wait for me to answer .

1. First of all thank you very much for creating such a nice template. You did a fantastic job by creating this gallery template. You can check my blog at http://www.vaibhavpbhosale.blogspot.com

Now about the problem I am facing. Whenever I click on the image it add one line to comment section and shows as 0 comments. It keeps on adding lines for the photos you navigate. I have attached screenshot to explain the problem. Can you please help me out in this.

Also I observed that with Chorme sometime images will not be visible. Even if you click on thumbnil it just flashesh the big picture and disappear. I dont think its a template issue may be something wrong with browser.

Thanks in advance.

6. First of all, this is absolutely nice, clean and sleak template i ever seen for a photo gallery. I did faces some problem with the images. Firstly, I've downloaded the simplexgalleryfix and I have followed the instruction you've mentioned.

Secondly, I want to test the gallery so I've made a new Post with images and when I view my blog, the images doesn't appear. It says error loading images. I have followed the posting images instruction as the screenshot below yet it still error in loading.

I do hope that you could point me on any error that I've made on the blog so that I can start using this amazing template along with others. Thank you.

7. Like everone else is saying, thank you for the great template. It's the best one I've seen and I've searched quite a while.

I have updated my blog with the newest version and I still have only 7 thumbnails rather than 9. Is there anything I can change? 9 would make the site more centered.

My site is: http://richardallenmcintyregallery.blogspot.com

Great job, and thanks for all your hard work!

Richard

8. @Faris : the link you gave me is not the original link of the image ,my friend . Google Blogger doesn't allow hot link from their service ,so they provide an alter link . If you want to see the actual link of your image ,please paste the link into address bar of browser ,right click and choose (copy image url) with firefox browser ,then paste the link you copied by right click into browser address bar .You will see two links are different . And the link you get by right click is the real link of your image .
@Richard McIntyre : You can change the number of thumbnails by changing the number of post per page .Just go to Dashboard ->Settings->Formatting ,change the number in Show to 9 .That's all .

15. @Wong Jaring : you can do as Google's suggestion ,follow the wizard for change links .But if Google said that the url file is missed ,you can copy its url and paste it in any download software or address bar of web browser for download js file .After that ,uploading the js file you get to a host ,and change link accordingly

18. @Jayson C.Ganir : Sometime searchform can't work perfectly . Because content of post is only image ,so it's hard for blogger to find exactly which post user need .Adding a comment line is a solution for Blogger regonize content of post ,but it's not a perfect solution ,so sometime ,you see searchform can't work .
I tried ,but still haven't got any idea.

20. I have a question that may or may not be associated with your template. When I load my site, the picture that is the main one loads first in the bottom left hand corner, then after a second or two it justifies to the proper formatting when the site finishes loading. It seems like there is some code that calls the pictures to be loaded before the site does, is there anyway to modify it to load the formatting first and then the pictures? Your demo site appears to have it working, but my live site does not. Advice is appreciated because I really love this design.

http://www.ltd-photography.blogspot.com

ReplyDelete
21. Upon further investigation it seems the demo site does it briefly too. Maybe it is a setting on my firefox/IE? It shows up on both.

ReplyDelete
22. @Jeremy Jones : Thanks for your question . What you see is very normal and I didn't find any solution to fix this trouble . Blogger template contain both of server-side scripts and client-side scripts . When site is load,blogger execute the server-side script first for showing image in all posts ,after this process done , blogger execute client-side script (javascript) for formatting image like centering ,resizing ...it's default order because server side script is run on server but client script is run on client computer and rendered by browsers. If your image size is small ,time for client side script is not long ,so you see image formatted .But if the image size is larger ,time for client side script is longer ,so you see not-formatted-image which is result of server-side script first and after one or 2 seconds ,you see the image formatted when client-side script is done. In demo site ,all images are so small in size .
After explaining the reason ,I think possible way to fix the trouble is optimizing the image size . That's all

ReplyDelete
23. Thanks for the comments! I was thinking the same thing too, but unfortuantely my photos are linked through facebook and are a set file size. Right now they are anywhere from 20-80kb in size which does not seem too significant. I've noticed that firefox loads perfectly fine 99% of the time, and IE it has the issue come up almost every single time.

Is there a way to write a fade-in for the overall site everytime a link is clicked for an adjustable time (say one second) such that if I were to click a link the page would go black while everything loads, then fade in a split second later once time has passed? I tried messing with the individual fade speeds on the blog but it seems to be an initial loading thing like you mentioned rather than fading in the image. So is there a workaround like this that could be possible?

I really appreciate the help and advice, I love the template. I tried tons of photolog templates and this is the only one that actually worked for me with my low HTML knowledge

24. Great job, nhamngahanh! Thanks!

Just one question. How to change my blog icon for this template?
After the line of code: .../title> on the next line, I paste : ...link href='URL of my icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/x-icon'/>
But it does not work. The new icon appears for 1 second and then it is replaced by default Blogger Favicon. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

PS: "..." = "<" (because the tag complete is not allowed for this comment)

25. Hello...here i am again. Help need. when i upload the first pictures they got a good dimension...but now the images are smaller...could you be nice to help me?
If you want to see, please visit my blog: www.evoraphotopress.blogspot.com

Thank's

ReplyDelete
26. @Carlos Neves : I think the reason is in blogspot image uploader . When you upload image using Blogger ,it will resize your image automatically.
For example ,I see an image link in your blog :
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_H1X68rbd3EM/S4P1uQFfI6I/AAAAAAAACHo/4DTBQ-HU3ww/s400/_DSC6323.jpg
Do you see /s400/ in the link ? it mean the image is resized to maximum of each dimension only 400px .
If you want to fix the trouble ,you can delete /s400/ in the link ,to this one
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_H1X68rbd3EM/S4P1uQFfI6I/AAAAAAAACHo/4DTBQ-HU3ww/_DSC6323.jpg
This is actual URL of your image when upload to Blogger.
Another way ,you can use another image hosting service. ^^

ReplyDelete
27. @Sourgout : upload your image which will be used as favicon to an image hosting ,such as photobucket . open template file and paste this line after </b:skin>
<link href=''favicon_url' rel='shortcut icon'/>
That's all

Is this what you need ?
When changing code ,I think you missed some CSS property ,and it's the reason why thumbnails are showed in vertical .
To fix this problem ,just add this code to CSS section of your template :

.galleria li {
display:block;
float:left;
height:80px;
margin:0 10px 10px 0;
overflow:hidden;
width:80px;
}
And everything will be okay .

34. Thanks for the best-looking photo gallery template I've ever seen for blogspot :-) My blog with this design is found here: http://vaidofoto.blogspot.com/
Works fine in IE, Fireox and Safari, unfortunately in my favorite browser Chrome there is an issue with version 4 - first "start" full image is not loaded, you can see only thumbs. (But Chrome 5.0 works fine)

About search - it seems, that search works fine in blog standard text also (although blog text is not shown in post). Post text is not working only if there is link in post - otherwise text is OK.

From all standard functions I miss hyperlinks most :-)

Thanks,

49. Hello nhamngahanh,

Like everyone else I truly appreciate your genius in creating this template.

Project Dragma hqd asked about the issue of pics being stretched. But before you could answer he had resolved the issue.

The odd thing is that it does not stretch on my computer but it does on others.

Could you please advise on how to prevent pics from stretching when uploaded.

Could it be a matter of taking out the s1600?
If so, is there an administrative way of taking it out automatically?

Thank you,

58. Hello and thanks for your work, it is really nice.
Only one question: I've installed this template because for me is better than the new versión SimplePhotography2, but in this template de transiction of showing photo is haderst than the new template wich is more fluid. How can I fixHi and thanks for your work is really good.

I have two questions:

First, how to improve transition to show the main image? The picture does not appear seamlessly as it does in the new version of full screen (simplexphotography2). In the second version notes that the photos appear more fluid, the transition into this template appears with jumps.

And second, where is the code that displays the main picture? I would like to add the parameter 'border 5px solid # FFFFFF' to display a white solid framework in photos and on the other hand, I would like to give a little more size to the main picture.

Thank you very much for answering and of course for your great work. It really is very good and gives a fresh look at blogger.

PS: Do you give us permission to modify the template according to our needs? Of course, mentioning to your website. it in this template?

85. Hello and thanks very much for your time,

First, acknowledge the fact that you have shared this amazing template with your readers, Simplex`s are very original!

and second, a question:
Is it possible to show the post date of publication under the title of it?

You can visit my blog here

Grateful
